Studs, draping, chains, washed denim, leather.
Oh, and how cool is that last sweater?! I feel a D.I.Y. coming on...

Wild Thing, You Make My Nose Ring

Halloween.
I was a wild thing*, in case you were wondering.
*The deranged look on my face is all part of the outfit, clearly.

"Into the Stars" Sweater by Insight
I'm usually not one to like inanimate things with big eyes, but I'm strangely attracted to this...
Maybe I'll take up knitting.

Ashes to Ashes

How gorgeous are these? Incredible, actually, in my book.
All pieces are by LuxCoronette, and are cast out of spent bullet casings... I love the concept of recycling, and the idea of using bullets to "create, not destroy."

Scraps and Skeletons

David Neville and Marcus Wainwright of Rag and Bone

*
Last night we went to a Rag and Bone party.
For such a small city, Boston definitely has it's fair share of tastemakers, all of whom seemed to jump at the chance to talk to two of New York's best known designers.
I was a bit out of place, amongst the droves of older women and men, but had a good time nonetheless. Fact: fashion in New York, Los Angeles, et al. is about youth culture, something that generally isn't true here in Boston - where the old and the young can be found commingling at events such as the one last night.

*

At the party, I was lucky enough to get the chance to interview jewelry designer, writer and fashion television producer, Tonya Mezrich (I'll have that posted very, very soon!), and get the opportunity to chat with the brains behind Rag and Bone: Marcus Wainwright and David Neville. They were incredibly interesting to talk with, and were unbelievably charming, modest, and very british.
I also met Adrienne, who works for Marcus and David. Below is a photo of the nifty way she tied her shoes.... I like.

Pretty Little Wild Things

Today is the debut of the limited-edition Where The Wild Things Are collection at Opening Ceremony (available in-stores and online). The line celebrates the upcoming release of Spike Jonze's movie based on the children's book by Maurice Sendak, and features copious amounts of faux fur. The line is the perfect mix of whimsy and wearability... and the Max-esque footed onesie is to die for.
Buy pieces from the collection here.
