Discovery is what happens when Rostam Batmanglij (keyboardist and producer of Vampire Weekend) makes love, sex and magic with Wes Miles (singer, Ra Ra Riot). The duo's first LP, called surprisingly enough, LP, was officially released last week, but ever since tracks leaked in early June, Dscvry has been playing on my ipod on repeat .

When John Met Paul
Today, July 6th, marks the 52nd anniversary of the date John Lennon met Paul McCartney at a garden party in Liverpool England. That fateful day in 1957 has led to a musical and fashion legacy that continues to influence both the sounds and styles of today.
Nifty stuff, non?

I Can Predict The Future
You asked, I answered. My impossibly stylish childhood photos:
(In case you were wondering, I am sadly not the gorgeous, leggy runway denizen wearing some of Resort 2010's biggest trends [blue denim-on-denim, floral crops and rompers], but the pale, scrawny midget with the messy hair)

I asked my father what my personal style was like when I was a wee tot.
His reply? "Uhhh...eclectic?". I would like to think that this was his nice way of saying exceedingly stylish, forward thinking and ahead of my time.
Unfortunately, I was a '90's child. Think: leggings, turtle necks, primary and neon colors. Onesie snowsuits. Scrunchies.
All of this, as you can tell, equals some pretty terrible outfits. My one ounce of awesomeness were my floral Doc Martens.
However, some of my childhood 'faves have been reinvented for the recently released resort 2010 collections. Who would have thunk that a 7 year old could be such an amazing trend caster?!

Everything You've Ever Known Will Be Different Now
I just recently came back from a trip to Rwanda and Tanzania. I went with a group from an organization called Partners in Health, a non-profit, non-government group. This incredible organization's vision is quite mission is simple, yet brilliantly powerful: to do whatever it takes to provide the best health and social care possible for people in need around the world. PIH operates on a few fundamental principles which have led to the group's enormous success in stopping the spread of infectious disease, feeding the malnourished, providing clean drinking water, and by building schools and hospitals. These principles (access to free healthcare and education, primary care, community partnerships, serving the poor through the public sector and addressing basic social and economic needs) are the basis needed for people the world over to live healthful and full lives.
To find out more information about Partners in Health, and see what you can do to affect change, please visit their webiste.

- A total of 34 hours of flying
- 4 flights that showed Marley & Me (possibly the worst movie known to human kind. Sorry, Owen)
- 25 Doctors, students and humanitarians traveling together
- 10 amazing days
